Attention MOO swimmers: On October 12th and 13th we will do a world record attempt for a 100m open water swim for time at Lucky's Lake Swim. Fifty swimmers in relay fashion will do 2 K each open water (this is doing two crossings, over and back twice ...they don't have to be at the same time). The Record Holders Republic (RHR) an International World Record certifying organization has agreed to certify the record. THIS IS A NEW EVENT SO WE ARE GUARANTEED THE RECORD IF WE JUST DO IT. Each swimmer on the world record setting relay will receive a world record certificate. We of course need 50 open water swimmers to accomplish this feat. We also need support volunteers and people to just hang out and have fun.
Yuko will attempt to break the world Longest open water lake swim record at the same time. Yuko who is a professional marathon swimmer and a member of the International Marathon Swimming Hall of Fame, will attempt on the same weekend to break the current world record of 80.2 kilometers....wow! We also need support help for her swim which will be going on at the same time. Yuko will also be raising money for the YMCA Aquatic Center Scholarship Fund.
